aaaaloha :)

Woke up with bruises. I haven't been out at night to a bar, club, whatever since I left NY. I haven't even stayed out past 10 since I've been here. I don't even have any friends! This is proof that the "soccer bruises" still exist and come from anything. There is no reason why this should be anywhere on my body. It looks a little gnarly in person. ahh my legs!

Well. Today was a pretty weird day at work. There was a weird energy flowing around the office so Clarissa, Steph and I left to go out for lunch. We went to the Thai food truck (praise Him, I love Thai...especially it its called TukTukThai) and I got this SLAMMMMMMMIN green curry chicken. Seriously, amazing. Spicy and awesome and aromatic and freaking delicious. Amazing.
Kinda cool. Kinda grungy. Really delicious. I promise! And yes, I know I'm eating from a redecorated school bus. Everyone is a hippie here.
 I. LOVE. ELEPHANTS....especially with the trunks up.

After lunch, we went back to the office and the energy still hadn't changed but I was full so I got a good chunk of work done. At around 4:15 or so, Clarissa asked if I had wanted to head into Kihei after work to see the Four Seasons. OF COURSE. I love nice things. Just like home. lol. Anyways, I agreed to go after work. The sun sets here at around 6:30 so by the time we got to Kihei it was already getting dark because we left home at about 6. Kihei is on the South shore of the island and tends to be a bit warmer than where I am in Haiku so I felt a little overdressed in jeans and a completely open backed top. Whatever, I heard it rained in New York :P

View at night. It's the pool, fountains and ocean. I wish I had more light to do this picture justice. I'll be back though.

So we're in  the Four Seasons and it feels just like all the nice places I can't really afford in NY, but love to go to because 'I know people' and like to pretend I'm faaaancy with a sophisticated palate that obviously I don't really possess as I've only just got into delicious food. We had a couple of martini's and shared a sake flight after. The only thing that would have made it better would have been Luci, EunMe and some shumai. God, I love shumai. Seriously, birthday shumai? and Christian? Thanks. Anyways, we leave after our drinks, a million olives and mixed nuts after touring the grounds and checking out the scene here. There probably were some famous people somewhere but as I don't recognize anyone, I couldn't tell you who they were. Clarissa was telling me there's always someone in the hotel or in the surrounding bars just coolin' it, but I literally was so overjoyed with martini that Will Smith could have asked me for directions and I would have rather eaten a macadamia nut. Okay, maybe not Will Smith but you get my drift. I did see two more brown people though. I'm up to five brownies I've seen. It's like a sighting everytime! So, we literally just got home and had a nightcap (aka another drink. I'm 22, don't judge) conversation and came up with an excellent little plan to get me hired in NY when I return. Won't ruin the surprise but hopefully it works...and that I can work my connects.
Love Ling Hui Mui powder! It's on the rim. I need it on everything.
WHO LOVES SAKE?! ...this girl right here. My favorite was the Ban Ryu.

Aaaaand in other news, I was pleasantly alerted that my sister has InDesign, Photoshop and all those programs that people hire out for. She is going to design my logo for me. Hi Renee. Thanks. If it turns out good (which it will because she is a SUPERSTAR), I will refer you to her.

Just so you know, there is a gecko crawling outside my window. Random, but it's there. Not freaking out but still not comfortable. Just sayin.

With warmest aloha,
MJ

ps. This is awful. As we were leaving I saw the paddleboard and paddle Sylvia used yesterday. It was just on the lawn (I mean, she had to hitchhike).

But on the bright side, one of the 37 mango trees on the property is starting to bloom!
You can see a baby mango at the bottom and all that yellow flower looking stuff will blossom into mangoes by Christmas. So cool. Maybe I'll turn into a "juicer" because that seems to be the trend on the mainland...maybe not though and I'll immediately order a steak. I'm betting on the latter. Rare plus please!

And the bouquet is still alive! That's tuberose (the most delicious thing I've ever smelled) on the right. As much as I absolutely LOVE roses, I think that if anyone gave me a bundle of tuberose I would say "yes". It smells divine. Absolutely intoxicating. Gentlemen, if you have a special lady in your life PLEASE get some tuberose for her. And spray a little Bleu de Chanel on your pulse points. Guaranteed.

....You're welcome.
