Aloha,

Forgot to post yesterday. Got kind of busy.

Anyways, yesterday started with going to Maui Executive Catering with Stephanie to pick up some cake plates for the wedding this Sunday (tomorrow). YAY, another wedding. This one is super small though. Only seven people. I think the wedding after is 60 guests or so though. I'm getting a pretty decent range of small and medium weddings. The largest capacity they will hold is 150 guests so they do some large weddings here as well. Anyways, we got the cake plates, I got to meet their really good looking chef, and went back to the Mill. When we returned, Steph and I hung the crystals for the wedding as the bride requested them to be hung. Pretty tedious task actually, and it is really hot under the glass roof.

 After

We also had a site visit today from a CEO of one of the Destination Management Companies I had contacted! Fun fact: I knew of him before I contacted him and before he came over. Cam's mother recommended I get in touch with him so when he came over I introduced myself. Really nice guy. Thanks Cam! Regards and thanks to your mother when she returns from Italy!

So every Friday in Maui they do this thing called "Aloha Fridays". In this case it was "Third Fridays" in Makawao. Makawao is that little cowboy town upcountry I went to with Sylvia the first week I got here. People were dressed in cowboy hats and as cowboys. Apparently that is regular there. They are real cowboys haha. I even saw a cowboy on a horse! The Aloha Fridays is just a huge festival in a different town on the island to get the community together while having food, music and activities. Clarissa and I arrived up country and entered the festival/block party at around 6:15 or so to meet one of her photographer friends. As I was walking down the block, I literally stopped everywhere and exclaimed I loved something different. One of the first things I saw was a Kettle Corn stand. I stopped mid stride and said, "I. LOVE. KETTLE CORN". Continued walking. Next stand a Puerto Rican Food Stand. "I. LOVE. PUERTO RICAN FOOD...AND EMPANADAS". Obvs, got an empanada. It was heavenly and absolutely delicious. It went on like that the entire block. I only had an empanada, samosa, kettle corn and a third of a bottle of Sauv. Blanc. though...ONLY. lol. What I almost ate/wanted to eat was ridiculous though. I wanted to have the wood fired pizza (they actually brought a big wood fired oven in the middle of the block party), a nutella crepe (praise jeeezus. my sweet tooth is wicked), another samosa, onion rings AND everything else in sight. You've got to remember everything is organic and tastes like real food here. It's hard to not go crazy, hit my big bernie and eat it all. I think this is why my mother told me to always eat before I go out. If you really want to understand why she'd say that, imagine that I am a bear that just came out of  a 9 month hibernation and want to eat everything in sight. My eyes are so much bigger than my stomach...and my wallet. Also, the goal is to be super sexy by my birthday so I probably shouldn't eat all the time because I am not really working out. Sarah, go to the gym.

 Bubbles!
Thought of my college roommate, Amanda when I saw this. TSMSKG. I actually think of my college roommates quite often. I can't wait to see what all of us are doing in ten years. I have no doubts in any of our futures and I know that with the amount of drive, passion, intellect and beauty we all possess that we'll all make it. Meet ya at the top ladies! xo, MG in Maui.

Teaching the little kids to lasso! seriously, I wanted to do it.
 They killed it.
OKAY. A little rude, but I actually really liked the shirt. Ride This, B***H.
I tried on a pair and they were SO comfortable and SO beautiful. But I am missing the season for cowboy boots. What a conundrum. JEEEZ.
THIS IS SERIOUS. THERE IS A COWBOY WITH A HAT AND A HORSE JUST GOING HANGING AROUND. REALLY.
The band was pretty cool. One of the florists saw me and dragged me to the middle to dance with her. There is some place to go salsa dancing tonight and she invited me. Super excited to spin around and dance tonight!

The little lights are cowboy boots. Oh, precious.

I've been complaining to my friends that I don't want to be in my "BESTIES!" group if they are going to talk about going out all together because I am extraordinarily jealous. ALAS, I came up with a solution. They must bring me out when they go out and take a picture so I can feel like I am there. Yesterday was my first day out in Westchester. I love my friends. I think we share the same strand of weird.

 Hi lovies.
I got a text with the above picture that said "teaching you how to play basketball." I'm not sure if you gathered from above, but I am the napkin...and I don't know how to play basketball (nor do I really care to learn). I will stick with my love for goalkeeping and soccer. Thanks for the help though guys. So sweet.

Sarah. Ya little freaknasty. Go play with Derek and not me.
The picture above came with the most hilarious text.
My favorite of them all. I love everything going on here. I think that they just found the tallest thing they could and put me on it. I got a text with this one saying "Molly, you're really tall". Thanks guys. Believe it or not, I knew this. lol.

Well, today I am off so I'm headed to the beach pretty soon. There is a baby swell coming in on the North Shore and Sylvia (the housekeeper) is picking me up so I can see her hit the surf. Definitely not getting in the water because I haven't learned how to surf yet. Hopefully soon.  I'll probably boogie board or something.

Oh, and Sue (the bookkeeper) brought me some goodies! Her son left for the mainland and she doesn't eat what he does so she brought me some stuff! BLUE MOON! CHEERIOS! YAY. I've actually never had Cheerios. I guess I'll try them ahahha.

With warmest aloha,
MJ

ps. My Tamara Catz photoshoot is scheduled for Oct 1! IT'S HAPPENING!! And because Clarissa and I are off this coming Thursday we are planning a day of fun. The plan is to leave at 6am to go to South Shore to do a boudoir photoshoot on Black Sand beach, snorkel by Kihei side because apparently it's good over there, see her shoot Brandy (the henna artist) at Temple of Peace and maybe get some dinner. Should be fun to be busy! She goes back to Santa Barbara on Oct 2nd. Working on logistics for a car by then. Anywho, should be a fantastic Thursday. Anyone want copies of photos from my boudoir shoot?

....yeah, right. No one is seeing those. Maybe I'll share one. Maybe I'll make a calendar for my next boyfriend? lol WHERE ARE YOU BOYFRIEND. lol. Sarah, I'm sending you the pictures. Tell Derek he has to share. ciao.

pps. I canceled with the guy I was supposed to go out with yesterday. WOOPS. First of all, there isn't anything open at night where I am and we had made plans for about 9:30pm. When he called it was pitch black and so I told him he could hang out with me during the day when there is something to do, a place to go, or even the beach today ahahhaha. SORRY, no more waterfall type night adventures for me until I actually know people and more about where I am living.
