Aloha,
TODAY WAS MY FIRST WEDDING AT THE MILL! How exciting. How freaking romantic.
Since people want pictures, I'll keep taking them. But I think it's a bit much. Whatever, enjoy. I'm glad people are looking and reading!!!
Woke up to this arrangement of plumeria flowers in the living room from Sylvia! How CUUUTEEEE. I love flowers. Seriously, why am I such a sucker? I love love LOVE flowers. You could probably get 90% of anything you want from me if you bring flowers, chocolate mousse, or ____. I'll leave the last bit empty for a bit of intrigue. I'm single, come on. I need to keep SOMETHIN' to entertain my lack of mystery...
Breaking up rose petals for the petal cones. I LOVE THIS COLOR. Not as much as my "blushing roses", but this will do. Pale pink is a favorite. Even though this is almost purple/lavender. WOOPS. But really, we broke the petals up of 75 roses. THAT'S A LOT. So beautiful.
LOL real lavender.... from the lavender fields by Kula! Apparently they are a great place to go read...or hang gliding.
Steph (today's planner) on the left. Sylvia (owner) on the right. Setting up!
Part of the front of my house! You can see the beginning of the Front Estate.
Ceremony prep time!
So I am standing on the sixth step...the one they suggest you get married on. I am ridiculous. Waterfall flowing, petals down. But I mean, REALLY.
Also, I am tanned. I hadn't realized until today. YAY. It's noticeable! Also, there aren't any black people here. I am a rareity here slash I draw attention all over. And I love it. Lol. Everyone is looking at me. haha. The vanity, oh the vanity...
The bride! I was trying to be artistic. No one ever sees a bride from this way.
I think I captured a little bit of the beauty of the Mill and how happy they were. Seriously, adorable.
This was the early stages of everything. Nothing really down yet.
Apparently getting married with a "six pence" is good luck or good fortune. Found one. GOOD FORTUNE to the newlyweds!
By the up house. I look tan!

Bar under the chandelier. At night there are tons of little twinkly lights that light up besides the chandelier. The bar is set under the mango tree. Its low (aka not for tall people), but so adorable.
Cane House. I wanted to focus on the mirror because I love the accents and the little cupid sculpture on the right. FAVE. Also, seriously if I knew anything about photography I would try not to get myself in the image....probably.
Dual head shower outside. I would. I WOULD, I WOULD.
What the outside shower looks like from the outside. Wild. Seriously.
The Mill is so beautiful. Totally not my kind of thing for a wedding because I'm terrified of nature. But it's beautiful.
Seriously, I am not the nature type. Not outdoorsy, not bug/gecko friendly. No nothing. But this place has outrageous charm and I can absolutely appreciate it. I promise you as corny as it sounds this place is enchanting. I am so enamoured by it. I literally fell in love with the bride and the groom and the chef (seriously) and the videographer (seriously) and at least four guests. It seems so easy here. Also on another note, I also kind of want a winter wedding so summer all year round wouldn't work for me. Future husband: we are celebrating my birthday, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day and our wedding in the same season. Be prepared.
Also, I have great news. As I left NY in the most abrupt fashion, I didn't have time to send my absentee ballot in for this November. Thanks mom. DNC>RNC. I still think one of the ONLY people that could beat Obama is Clinton...and he can't even run.
AND BECAUSE MY FRIENDS WONT TAKE PICTURES WITH ME AT THE BAR BECAUSE I AM NOT HOME WE ARE GOING TO PRETEND. These are the pictures I sent them to take pictures with at the bar. I have recieved NOTHING in my friend group. Thanks.
I look kind of skinny here. IT'S THE SALAD. Seriously. Also, my hair is getting long again! woohoo!
ALSO. PSA: Sarah, Tats, Jeff, Sean and Will. If I don't see a picture with me in it, I will flip. Do it please and send it to the group because I love you.
OH even better. My friend was saving me from "the killers" last night and was FaceTiming me (It was 8pm and pitch black on this estate by myself= killers were coming) I managed to capture an excellent screenshot.
bahahha.
Best part of today besides the goosebumps at vows, almost tears at toasts and utter happiness the entire night (yes, I am that corny and semi romantic): I left with flowers. These are in my inside bathroom. I AM HAPPY. SERIOUSLY. THIS IS ALL IT TAKES.
All I got.
With warmest aloha,
MJ
ps. Hawaiian reggae is awesome. I am so, so, SO obsessed. Somehow it just seems to suit this lifestyle. Everything is slow, laid back and honest to goodness better with a L they say. I wouldn't know but I mean, eh. I could understand why anyone would say that. As amazing as it is here, I will come home. I need to see a building over 4 feet tall and I need to be motivated by speed and competition. You can only be but so competitive on an island. I need that carrot. See ya in December. If you want to make SURE you see me (aka if you are not my immediate family or Sarah Dolores Olaya-Jensen of White Plains) make sure you take me out to get fish for my birthday...I will say yes. I'm ready. We'll just have to start at either Haiku in WP or Campbell in NYC. You have a choice, fine friends! hahaha seriously. I miss you all. I sent a certain friend a whole line of videos that aalll came to fruition from inspiration of this one: click it. seriously, do it. Happy birthday! Be glad I wasn't close enough to scratch or spill anything on you. ha. I doubt my klutziness will ever end...
