ALOHA!

Had a much better day today. I actually feel much, much better. Thanks for checking in on me friends. xoxo i love you all. Thanks for making me feel loved allll the way in the middle of the Pacific. So lucky to be surrounded by gold.

Besides the fact that I was angry yesterday, I didn't post anything that actually happened. We had a cupcake tasting!  They honestly were the most delicious little things and the baker was this adorable french woman named Marie. Hilarious, really.

Lilikoi, Rasberry, Guava, All Spice, Red Velvet..mmmm..

Anyways, Clarissa took me out for a quick errand yesterday as well. She used to live on the island and I literally will go anywhere with anyone to get out of the house so we went out to get "kombucha". The man explained it to me but it made no sense. It's something Chinese inspired and fermented with champagne and it is delicious. Nakota wanted to take me here so I won't tell him I've already been. We'll just have to go back because it is SO delicious. hahah.

RAW white cocoa raspberry cake that was SO yummy that we started eating before I snapped a picture. WHY IS FOOD SO GOOD?! I DONT KNOW. H!

Saw this Buddist house of worship as well. So beautiful. This does it no justice.

Weeelll, its 7pm and PITCH BLACK so I am going to continue this blog. I just got back from an awesome little happy hour with Clarissa at this place called Mes Amies. We had lilikoi (passionfruit) margaritas which put me on cloud nine. Bless the Tequila gods. Honestly, it's really nice to get out of the house and just go somewhere else sometimes. Feel a little contained/trapped sometimes. It's nice that everyone has a car though so I can tag along wherever/whenever someone wants to go. After Mes Amies, we went to Pa'ia Fish Market for dinner and I GOT FISH AGAIN! I tried a different one this time called Ono. Its a firmer white fish. I really hope by the end of this I am eating fish all the time. It's so delicious here and I'm kind of nervous it won't taste the same back in the northeast. Apparently my best bets are halibut, red/pink snapper and swordfish. BELIEVE YOU ARE ALL TAKING ME OUT TO A FISH DINNER FOR MY BIRTHDAY (DECEMBER 24). THANK YOU FRIENDS! lol.
Lilikoi Marg... you can see the seeds!

Fun fact. Pa'ia Fish Market uses the same fish as Mama's Fish House which is THE most expensive restaurant on the island. Isn't that ironic? Obvs the preparation is different, but they get their fish from the same source.

Anyways, Clarissa and I also went out to lunch today (really, I felt trapped and completely unproductive... needed to leave. I promise I actually cook food and don't go out ALL the time) to this Thai food organic truck. I joke not. A completely organic food truck. In a school bus. HA! Delicious. I had a ginger chicken stirfry which blew my mind all the way to NY and back. UNREAL. Ginger is my best friend.

Everyone is super green here. It's awesome.

Also, since we know my vanity is outrageous and I am obsessed with mirrors (yes, I know), I have news for you! I am doing a henna photoshoot on the island! Clarissa was a notable fashion/wedding photographer and she brought all her equipment to the island and has some connections and asked me if I wanted to be shot. AMAZING. She is photographing her pregnant friend with henna on her stomach and asked me if I was interested in doing something as well. I LOVE HENNA. The idea right now is henna running from my shoulder down my spine and definitely my hands as well. She would like to shoot at sunset and her vision right now is me in the water. I AM PUMPED. I would shoot naked ahha. But I doubt that will happen. Anyways, I should have some really cool photographs because the shoot is supposed to be next week. MAYBE they'll make the blog ;) She was telling me that she is selective with who/what she shoots and she honestly does it because it is her passion. I am SO honored. I can't wait!

This is some famous photograph. I don't know who it is at all but this is what she showed me as part of her vision. I don't even own bottoms like that. LOL. There's a hundred percent chance I won't look like this for a few reasons:

1. I'm brown
2. My hair is not straight or long anymore (also, it would cover the henna)
3. I don't own those bottoms. And I wouldn't buy them.

I still think it'll look awesome. Inspiration just gives a direction to go in, so even if she tried I don't think it would look EXACTLY like that. Would be cool to recreate to compare the two though. I don't even care what she wants to do. I'm 100% game for anything (I'll even get the bottoms IF I HAVE TO lol).

This is a sample idea of henna. Just something that either starts on my shoulder and goes down, or something just straight down my spine. SO excited.

With warmest aloha,
MJ
